Hosted by ISKCON Navi Mumbai
The International Gita Scholarship Test (IGST) is a spiritual and educational initiative organized by International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), Navi Mumbai. It is designed to inspire students and youth worldwide to deeply study, understand, and apply the timeless wisdom of the Bhagavad-gītā in their personal, academic, and professional lives.
ISKCON was established in 1966 by A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, who selflessly carried the message of Krishna consciousness from India to the Western world. With unwavering faith and determination, Śrīla Prabhupāda translated and explained sacred Vedic scriptures such as the Bhagavad-gītā and Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, making them accessible to people of all cultures and backgrounds.
His life's mission was to fulfill the divine prophecy of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu—that the chanting of the holy names of the Lord would spread to every town and village across the globe. ISKCON today stands as a living testament to that vision.
As Navi Mumbai emerged as a major urban and educational hub, ISKCON's presence in the region steadily expanded through congregation programs, youth initiatives, spiritual discourses, book distribution, and community outreach. Devotees envisioned a dedicated temple that would serve as a center for devotion, learning, and spiritual culture amid modern city life.
Through years of perseverance, collective service, and divine grace, this vision gradually transformed into reality.
In the year 2025, by the mercy of Lord Krishna and the sincere efforts of devotees, the ISKCON Navi Mumbai Temple was formally established. More than a place of worship, the temple functions as a vibrant spiritual ecosystem—nurturing bhakti through daily kīrtans, deity worship, scriptural study, festivals, and educational programs.
The temple actively serves the mission of Śrī Chaitanya Mahaprabhu by:
In today's world, academic excellence often progresses without moral clarity or spiritual direction. The International Gita Scholarship Test (IGST) was launched to address this gap by reintroducing the Bhagavad-gītā as a guide for holistic development.
IGST aims to:
IGST is not merely an examination—it is a transformative journey that empowers participants to lead meaningful lives guided by timeless wisdom.
Anchored in the teachings of Śrīla Prabhupāda and guided by the mission of Lord Chaitanya, IGST stands as a sincere effort by ISKCON Navi Mumbai to serve society. Through this initiative, we aspire to awaken spiritual intelligence, inspire conscious leadership, and contribute to a more harmonious and value-driven world.
Hare Krishna.
